UoM Computer Club in collaboration with LUGM and various Linux geeks from around the island have put their efforts together to bring you Linuxfest 2013. This is a half-day event happening on 25th November 2013 with the aim to bring Linux closer to fellow Mauritians. The event will comprise of presentations by members of the Linux User Group of Mauritius & other speakers from the IT industry.
This workshop will comprise of Live demos of on Linux desktops & notebooks where public will get to try their usual IT activities like internet surfing, listen to music, watch a video or even start a video call :) Yes! All that can happen with Linux. Gamers will surely find our small Valve stall awesome! What’s that? Well … Linux does have games that will blow off your mind! Come & have fun.

We are dedicated to Linux and the FOSS community. We strive to promote free software, open standards and to generally have a good time by hosting social events that educate, allow members to share ideas and knowledge and to build friendship. We hold regular meetings mostly on Saturdays. The meetings are free and open to the public. Membership is free for full-time students.
